Amsterdam Defence line

Extending 135 km around the city of Amsterdam, the defence line of Amsterdam is the only example of a fortification based on the principle of controlling the waters. Two unique sites are part of the defence line: Fortress Island Pampus, and Amsterdam Castle Muiderslot. At a stone’s throw from Amsterdam, you will go back in time for a taste of real Dutch history.
